At JEM our goal is to match you with a professional that best suits you and your hair needs.

The experience we provide is one of relaxed luxury in our beautiful, intimate salon.  Each team member has their own specialties and strengths while being knowledgeable, passionate and caring professionals and is priced accordingly. We offer a range of services but our best known for our specialties in blonding, extensions and hair loss solutions.

Before your first visit we may ask for current hair photos and inspirational hair photos to ensure you are booked the appropriate amount of time. We are a gender neutral salon and love doing transformative make overs.

The day of your appointment you can access our free parking lot and on street parking from either Main Street New Paltz or Harrington Street. Our entrance is in the back of the building, up the brown stairs or use our handicap accessible ramp. We recommend using Harrington Street during the busy weekends. New Paltz is a popular Hudson valley destination during the fall season with our delicious eateries and gorgeous hiking trails. 

Communication is critical in order to achieve your desired look so expect a consultation up to 15 minutes at your appointments. Learning about your hair history is critical for us to pick the correct products and application method. 

We are well known for our luxurious shampoos. This is your time so lay back, close your eyes and relax. Every shampoo comes with a rejuvenating shampoo, scalp and a warm eye pillow.

You can also expect your stylist to teach you how to style your hair at home and recommend the professional tools and products needed to recreate your look.

Other info and policies

Pricing varies from stylist to stylist and could be more based on technical difficultly the haircut, length and thickness. Each team members pricing tier is based on level of expertise, experience, advanced training, and demand. Their pricing can change throughout the year.

If you are not sure what color service to book or want an accurate price quote for your service, feel free to text or call us at 845-256-0600 for assistance. 

If you are not completely happy with your services please let us know within 7 days. We will work hard to adjust any problem areas. There are no refunds on services that were provided.


We value your time and make it our top priority, we ask for the same in return.

Kindly notify the salon by phone 48 hours in advance of all cancellations or rescheduling. This allows time to book other guests waiting to be seen.


There will be a cancellation fee for all last minute cancellations or rescheduled appointments (less than 48 hours notice):  50% fee of expected services the first time and 75% fee of expected services thereafter.  

No call/no shows will be charged 75% of scheduled services and may need to put a retainer/deposit down for future appointments. 


Extension clients who have left a retainer: with less than 48 hours notice you will be subject to a loss of retainer and required to leave a retainer for all future appointments.  No call/no shows will be charged 75% of scheduled services and will need to put a retainer down for any future appointments. 


In conjunction with this new policy, we will need to update credit card numbers on file for all clients.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
